The questions we get asked most
Full blackout needs a heavy coated fabric that doesn’t breathe well, so it isn’t comfortable to sleep under night after night. Our bed canopies use a lighter, breathable fabric instead. It blocks around 75% of ambient light, which makes the space dark and calm without getting stuffy. For near-total darkness during the day, our pop-up blackout tents block about 95%.
Themed tents sit on a single bed and suit children aged about 4 to 10. Black canopies are made for darkness and come in single, king single, double and queen sizes, so they suit young teens through to adults.
Themed tents go at the head end of a standard single bed. The Seahorse Bed Tent is the only themed tent that also fits a king single. Each black canopy is made for one mattress size, so choose the one that matches your bed.
Both the themed tents and the black canopies are made for a bed frame, with the mattress inside the tent. The mattress holds the tent steady. No drilling or wall fixings are needed.
The mattress goes inside the tent, so take its thickness off the tent height. Themed tents are 80cm high, which leaves room to lie down and read. Black canopies are 120cm high, so most children and adults can sit upright.
Yes, as long as it is set up as instructed: on a bed frame with the mattress inside the tent. The weight of the mattress keeps it in place however much your child moves.
Yes. There is a little less room to move than without the tent, but you make the bed and change the sheets the same way.
Let them help set it up and choose what goes inside, such as their own pillow, a favourite toy or a string light. Use the tent for stories or quiet time before the first night, and keep the rest of the bedtime routine the same. We rarely get a tent back because it wasn’t used, but if it doesn’t work out you can return it within 30 days.
Email us your order number and a photo, and we’ll replace or refund it, including return postage. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law aren’t limited to 30 days.
